Today might be a good day

Today might be a good day to revisit the familiar,
without judgment.
Attending to duties
routines
mundane repetitions
which on every other day
frustrate with
lack of imagination
and wearisome detail.

Today might be a good day to hide in the familiar
with gratitude.
Encountering refuge
sanctuary
tender confines of grace
where daily rituals
forestall grief
a necessary breath.
